Fundamental

In this level students are introduced to the essential principles of shruti, swara, laya, voice culture, pronunciation and musical discipline. Along with learning compositions, emphasis is placed on developing the right listening habits and understanding how music should be learnt and rendered.

Intermediate

The Intermediate level takes students beyond learning compositions into a deeper understanding of musical expression and presentation.

Students work on refining their delivery, developing greater sensitivity to raga, bhava, sahitya, aesthetics and structure, and understanding the finer details that distinguish a good rendition.

Advanced

The Advanced level is focused on developing a mature, compelling and individual musical voice.

Students are guided to understand the finer aspects of interpretation, aesthetics, presentation and manodharma, while developing the discernment required to make informed musical choices.
